Intrigued

Forge went great, spent the last two weeks working with a great, small crew, on an awesome feature. Now it's back to the real world, and the footage will go on to be edited, effected, treated, and so forth. It should be done by September or October. If you're interested in learning more, seeing a few scenes, etc, check out http://www.theforgeproject.com.

A lot of work coming up in the next couple weeks; Selena's "Toy Maker's Reality" this weekend, Jed's "Trail of Fears," in a couple weeks, and the QO's Yeyo Tequila spots, speaking of which, check out the bottle:

I've been following Rian Johnson, the director of "Brick," and the new film "The Brothers Bloom," on twitter. He posts many interesting articles and such follow him @rcjohnso. Check out the blog for his newest film while you're at it, I'm excited for it: http://brothersbloom.tumblr.com

On another note, though inspired by Johnson, I am intrigued by Lars von Triers new film, "Antichrist," check out the trailer, and a review below.

Auditory Oddyssey #1

SO over the weekend I decided to take a little auditory odyssey down the rabbit hole that is myspace music. I began with the intention of finding bands in St. Louis, MO that resembled the type of music made by Breakfast Mountain, White Fang, Bone Arrow, etc. I wanted to find the twenty something indie bands who rock the house parties every weekend. I didn't find quite what I was looking for, but I did find some good stuff. So take a moment and lend me your ears and eyes.

Gentleman Auction House

An orchestral band that reminds me of bands such as Arcade Fire and Architecture in Helsinki. (click image for link)

Throughout my few hours of searching, this was the most interesting band I was able to out of St. Louis. I'm sure there are more hidden in the cracks of myspace, but the trail led me on to Chicago, IL where I was introduced to this group:

YeaBig + KidStatic

A fresh MC/Producer combo relying on sweet electronic beats.

I was then sent across the country to LA:

I've run out of steam on exposition, so just click the photos and take a listen.

Until next time, Enjoy!

Spring Time

Spring has hit Portland full force, at least for a couple of days, and it couldn't have come at a better time.

The sunshine filtering through the trees makes me want to run and play all day. Luckily I can work all day, and still have a good amount of time to play in the evening.

In other news there are two concerts coming up Thursday, anybody interested in checking one of them out?

My first choice is:

THE THERMALS

Wonder Ballroom
Doors @ 8p
Show @ 9p
$14 Advance and Day Of
All Ages

The other show is:

Say Hi To Your Mom

Holocene
8:30p
$8 Advance and Day of Show
21 & over

Give me a shout if you want to go to either.
